Carrefour, the retail giant exclusively operated by Majid Al Futtaim in Uganda, is celebrating its four-year milestone with an array of exciting rewards and discounts for its loyal customers. From January 31 to February 13, 2024, shoppers can anticipate winning big, with millions of shillings in cash prizes and attractive daily discounts.
As a gesture of appreciation for their unwavering loyalty, Carrefour will be giving away UGX one million daily for 14 days to four fortunate MyCLUB members, totaling UGX 56 million in rewards. The retailer aims to make this anniversary celebration memorable for its customers by offering exclusive discounts of up to 50 per cent across various categories, including groceries, fresh food, electronics, appliances, and homeware.
Participating in the festivities, Carrefour encourages shoppers to engage in a unique social media challenge. By visiting any Carrefour store in Uganda, capturing a 30-second video extending birthday wishes, and sharing it on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter with the hashtag #C4anniversary while tagging Carrefour Uganda, participants stand a chance to win a cash prize of UGX one million. The winner will be determined based on the highest engagement and views.
Christophe Orcet, Regional Director for East Africa at Majid Al Futtaim Retail, expressed pride in the brand’s phenomenal growth over the past four years, attributing it to their commitment to providing unbeatable value and choice. Carrefour’s loyalty program, MyCLUB, further enhances the customer experience by offering instant discounts and the opportunity to earn and redeem loyalty points.
Beyond its commercial success, Carrefour has played a pivotal role in supporting the local economy by sourcing 99 per cent of its products from over 500 local suppliers, contributing significantly to job creation. The retailer has also demonstrated corporate social responsibility through initiatives like “Round Up Your Bill,” which has raised over UGX 290 million since its launch in 2021, supporting various projects benefiting vulnerable groups in neighboring communities.
